charcoal drawing

"Written in Stone" is part of series of drawings of cemetery sculptures, the theme being "I remember you." It was drawn in charcoal and conte crayon on 11x14 drawing paper. Located in one of the oldest cemeteries in Norfolk, Virginia, the monumental size of the heavenly creature allowed me the unique perspective of drawing him from below with the background of a clear sky.

This drawing won Honorable Mention at the Thomas Nelson Community College Student Art Show in 2017.
