This photo showcases the various textures within its frame. The smoothness of the leather, the coolness of the metal, the shiny foil imprint of the Prada name, and the highlights and shadows within the tufts of fur all come together for a rich visual experience. I used a three-light setup to capture this scene. A low soft box raked light across the fur from the left. A high angled soft box from the front-right created the highlights on the metal and foil. A low spotlight with a gel and a slotted cucoloris cast the light pattern on the backdrop. A reflector was also used to illuminate the suede texture inside the shoes. This dramatic composition is as much a fine art piece as a product photo.
